This hospital has been nothing short of amazing. I’ve been here for myself as well as my mother, multiple times. They always treated my mother and visiting family with care. Each visit, we have been on different floors with different staff but each set of Doctors, surgeons, specialists, and nurses have been wonderful. Thank you for taking great care of us.

My husband originally thought he just had a stomachache, so I took him to EvergreenHealth Urgent Care in Woodinville on Saturday morning. They didn’t have the equipment needed and advised us to go to the ER. Since I had been to the EvergreenHealth ER in Redmond before, I brought him there next. That’s when we found out he had gallstones. The ER doctor patiently explained everything and recommended that we transfer to EvergreenHealth Hospital in Kirkland for gallbladder removal surgery, so my husband was taken there by ambulance. This was our first time experiencing surgery in the U.S., and as English is our second language, we were very nervous and unsure about the whole process. Thankfully, every nurse and doctor we met was incredibly kind and supportive. We arrived at the hospital in the afternoon, and since I had been with my husband all day without eating or drinking, I asked a nurse if there was a cafeteria. The day‑shift nurse was so thoughtful—she personally walked me through the easiest route so I wouldn’t get lost. My husband stayed overnight and continued to have pain and vomiting. I read all this hate on here, making me nervous and extremely hesitant to come in as I usually refrain from going into ERs due to a lifetime of trauma from my family and the military. On this specific day I came being almost unable to walk, causing me to shift around like Mr. Burns from The Simpsons. The receptionist was nice, which I appreciated because like I said, I'm used to my family and the military. When I was called in for my blood pressure I could see the frustration in the nurse admitting me due to eating beef jerky ( I hadn't eaten all day) because I was starving, but I understood and was sympathetic to their duties and responsibilities, but it is what I am used to in life. Once I got into my room, they asked me my questions and I let them know the VA recommended I go there because it was closer to me, and they wanted to be sure I would be ok sooner than later. I was seen by Dr. Gardner, which he was understanding as to why I came, and order me an MRI to be sure. My nurse, I forget her name, but she was a young and spunky maybe 20 y/o female, whom reminded me of my cousins, so I definitely felt at home. Avoid this hospital ER at all costs. There are two harmful providers who work there, a PA David Island and Dr. Joseph Mazzoncini. I had seen David on a previous visit to which he stated “oh you again, what do you want”. I had been seen in the ER multiple times in the summer of 2026 due to a painful and debilitating heart condition. When I realized David would be my provider again, I asked the nurse to request a different provider. I was calm the entire time but expressed my uncomfortability at being seen by David again due to my negative previous encounter again. It’s important to note my mother was present with me the entire time. She witnessed the entire interaction. David charged that I was “upset” and “angry” about the dose of medication. I was receiving. I made it clear I wanted a new or diet because I received poor treatment prior. I even stated I was fine forgoing additional medication if I could be seen by a provider who would treat me better. I have issued complaints, requested amendment request, and asked that my witness be interviewed and was denied. How is it ethical to state I was upset and angry when I was not? I recently spent some time here as my sister recovered from surgery. Not related to the hospital itself but the neighborhood is pleasant, easily walkable and full of restaurants and shopping if you are looking for a distraction and/or some fresh air. Inside the hospital the experience can vary as many of the surgeons travel from place to place in the seattle metro. The nurses and staff on-site however are delighful and second to none! You can tell they are happy to be there and that rubs off on to your actual recovery care. Very pleasant recovery environment.
